5-Week Nursing Assistant Program

Are You A Potential Nursing Assistant Student?

  • Able To Pass A Physical Examination

  • HS Diploma / GED Preferred

Our full-time day and evening programs are 120 hours each & approximately 5 weeks long. It is an alternative program that fits the schedule of students that work full-time hours but who would also like to continue their education in the healthcare field. The course is designed to prepare students for the Nevada certified nursing assistant exam.

Course Description

 

This program prepares students to work in various healthcare settings. The program focuses on basic principles of nursing practice that encourages students to think critically while working alongside healthcare team members.

Course Details

 

  • 4 Weeks – Lecture & Lab Skills (4 Days a Week)

  • Day & Evening Courses 

    • (9:30am-2:30pm, or 5:30pm-10:30pm)

  • 1 Week Off-site Clinical Training (Wednesday – Friday)

    • (7am-7pm)​

  • Test Prep Review Course

  • On-site Testing For State Exam

Requirements

  • At least 16 years of age

  • Physical Examination 

    • Within 1 Year Prior to Class Start Date ​

  • Negative TB (Tuberculosis) Test​

    • Quantiferon, 2-Step Skin Test, or Chest X-Ray

    • Within 1 Year Prior to Class Start Date ​

  • Immunization Record Containing the Following:

    • 2 Doses of Varicella (Chicken Pox), or Titers

    • 2 Doses of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), or Titers

    • 3 Doses of Hepatitis B, or Titers, or Declination Form

    • TDAP (Tetanus & Diphtheria)

      • Within 10 Years Prior to Class Start Date​
    • COVID-19 Vaccination/Exemption

  • Proof of CPR (Must take with Live Savers or have proof from outside source) â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹

The Course Includes The Following:

  • Nursing Assistant Textbook (Provided)

  • 2 Sets of Navy Blue Scrubs (Top & Bottom) 

  • American Heart Association BLS / CPR Course 

  • BP Cuff and Stethoscope

  • Second Hand Watch

  • Nevada (CNA) Clinical Skills & Written Exam

  • Fingerprinting

  • Nevada State Board of Nursing CNA Application
